Therapy for Burnout That Goes Deeper Than Time Off

This isn’t just stress. You’re not just “tired.” You might be showing up to work, getting things done, and holding it together — but inside, something feels off. The exhaustion runs deeper. You might feel numb, irritable, disconnected, or like the person you were is out of reach.

If you're highly sensitive or neurodivergent, burnout may look different for you — and last longer. It’s not a mindset problem or a lack of grit. It’s your system finally telling the truth after years of pushing through.

If any of this resonates, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to keep navigating it by yourself.

WHAT BURNOUT MIGHT FEEL LIKE

  • Constant low-level dread, even about basic tasks

  • Brain fog or trouble focusing, even on things you care about

  • Emotional flatness or irritability you can't shake

  • Feeling broken or ashamed for not “bouncing back”

  • Wanting to rest but not feeling safe enough to do it

  • Feelings of depression, anxiety and hopelessness.

Especially for sensitive and neurodivergent people, burnout is often layered:

  • Masking and camouflaging — constantly adjusting how you speak, act, or show up to fit neurotypical expectations

  • Chronic sensory overload — from noise, light, social interactions, or daily transitions

  • Perfectionist or overfunctioning parts keep driving you even when you have nothing left to give

  • Deep internalised beliefs that your needs are “too much,” “unreasonable,” or burdensome

  • Unmet or misunderstood support needs can leave you feeling isolated, misunderstood, or like you have to figure everything out on your own

This isn’t just regular burnout. For many neurodivergent people, it’s the result of years — or decades — of living in a world that wasn’t built for your brain or body.

WHAT BURNOUT THERAPY CAN OFFER

Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), we gently start getting to know the parts of you that:

  • Are still trying to perform, fix, or keep everything together

  • Feel ashamed, defeated, or shut down

  • Don’t believe rest is safe

This isn’t about pushing through or fixing yourself. It’s about meeting your inner world with compassion, creating space to stop, and beginning to imagine a different kind of life — one built around your actual energy, needs, and values.

THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You’ve burned out before — or feel like you never fully recovered

  • You’re tired of performing “okay” on the outside while feeling lost inside

  • You suspect your sensitivity, neurodivergence, or past trauma makes burnout hit harder

  • You want to rebuild your life from a more sustainable place

WHAT MAKES MY APPROACH DIFFERENT

Many of my clients have already tried rest, mindset work, or even changed jobs — and still feel stuck. I've been there too. I've experienced burnout twice myself, and I know how difficult it is to get through. That lived experience helps me meet you without judgment or pressure — just real understanding of what it takes to find your way back.

What’s often missing is the emotional layer: the parts of us that are terrified to slow down, that carry shame, that equate worth with productivity. I work from an IFS lens to help you identify and build relationships with these parts — so they don’t have to run the show anymore. You won’t be forced to “fix” your burnout. Instead, we’ll listen to what it’s trying to say.

I work with people in Sweden, the UK, across the Nordics, and internationally — many of whom are neurodivergent, queer, child-free, or simply wired differently. If that’s you, you’ll likely find this is a space where you can slow down and finally be with yourself, without pressure.

READY TO START?

If you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally flat, or like you’ve been in survival mode for too long — I’d love to hear from you.

You don’t have to keep pushing through. There’s another way.

 FAQs

  • No. Some clients are in full burnout, others are in pre-burnout or recovery. If you’re emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or feeling stuck in cycles of collapse and overfunctioning, this work can help.

  • Because you probably didn’t need a better system — you needed a space to explore the internal dynamics behind the burnout. IFS helps us work at that deeper level. Also if you are neurodivergent, you may benefit from tools and strategies that are specifically adapted for your neurotype.

  • Yes. Many of my clients are self-identified or exploring that possibility, or are neurotypical. A diagnosis isn’t necessary — we’ll focus on what your nervous system is telling us.
