Therapy in Hong Kong for expats, highly sensitive people, and neurodivergent adults
Living abroad isn’t always the fresh start you were hoping for.
The stress of adjusting to a new country and trying to get by without familiar support can feel overwhelming.
Whether you’ve been in Hong Kong for a few months or many years, deeper struggles still follow you: anxiety that doesn’t let you rest, relationship issues that keep repeating, and old pain that comes back when life feels too heavy.
If you also feel different in some way – highly sensitive, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, child-free, or just outside the norm – it can add even more weight to what you’re already carrying.
In therapy with me, you get to show up exactly as you are.
I often work with people who feel a little out of the ordinary. Many of my clients identify as highly sensitive, autistic, ADHD, LGBTQ+, child-free, or simply don’t feel like they fit in. If that’s you, therapy with me is a place where all parts of you are welcome.
I offer online therapy for English-speakers in Hong Kong and use an approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS).
In IFS, we get to know and work with the different parts inside you. These are often protectors that pull you in different directions, such as:
- the part that puts other people’s needs ahead of your own, even when you’re exhausted,
- the ambitious, workaholic part that keeps pushing you to achieve more,
- the numbing part that turns to food, screens, substances or other distractions to get you through.
Instead of fighting these parts, we befriend them and work with them to shift things.
Over time, this creates more space inside, so you don’t feel taken over by stress, self-criticism, or old patterns.
The result is often:
- feeling calmer and less triggered in relationships,
- being able to say no without guilt,
- and being present and connected with the people who matter most.
Hi, I’m Sanni
After 17 years of living abroad, I know what it’s like to feel both free and unrooted – to crave distance and adventure, while also questioning where you belong.
Whether it’s anxiety that won’t give you a break, relationship conflicts that keep repeating, or painful memories from the past that still affect you – we can figure it out together.
In therapy with me, you’ll find someone who can hold all sides of your story – the strong and ambitious parts, as well as the vulnerable and uncertain ones.
I’m now based in Sweden and offer afternoon and evening appointments for clients in Hong Kong, so you can talk after work without adding more stress to your schedule.
How I can support you
I work with adults who are navigating life a little differently – whether you’re neurodivergent, sensitive, questioning your relationship, recovering from burnout, or integrating a psychedelic experience.
Together we create space to understand your feelings, process the past, and move forward with more confidence.

People come to me for many reasons – anxiety that doesn’t let go, the weight of stress or burnout, relationship struggles, or feeling the need to finally process the past. Many of my clients identify as autistic, ADHD, or highly sensitive, and therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself. We start from the assumption that your brain works differently, and that’s okay. I also welcome people who are self-diagnosed or still figuring out whether they’re neurodivergent. Together, we’ll explore your patterns, needs, and challenges in a way that honours your neurotype.

Do you often question your relationship or feel caught in loops of doubt? Relationship anxiety and ROCD can make it hard to relax and trust your feelings. Together, we’ll get to know the parts of you that seek certainty and the ones that fear loss or rejection, so you can move toward relationships that feel more steady and secure.
-

Navigating the end of a relationship can bring up overwhelming and conflicting emotions – grief, anger, longing, relief and guilt. IFS therapy is especially helpful here because it gives space for all these different parts of you, helps process both fresh heartbreak and old pain that may resurface, and supports you in finding clarity about your next steps.
-

When everything feels like too much – whether from work, caring for others, or just pushing yourself for too long – burnout can leave you drained and disconnected. In therapy, we’ll untangle the pressures that keep you running on empty and find sustainable ways to rest, recharge, and reconnect with what matters most.

Psychedelics can open up powerful insights, but they can also bring confusion or overwhelm. Integration therapy offers a grounded space to explore whatever came up – insights, challenges, or emotional material – and weave it into daily life. If you’re preparing for a journey, we’ll also look at how to enter it with clarity and intention.
If this feels like the support you’ve been looking for, the first step is to book a free 15 minute consultation.
In that call, we’ll talk about what you’d like to focus on, how I work, and whether it feels like the right fit for you – no obligations.

I work with sensitive, deep-thinking, and neurodivergent adults, including expats and foreigners living in Hong Kong. My clients often come to therapy with challenges around anxiety, self-doubt, relationships, identity, or simply wanting to feel more at ease in themselves.

Yes. I offer therapy online in English for clients across Sweden, the UK, Europe, and Asia. Many of my clients are based in Stockholm, London and Hong Kong, but I’m happy to meet with you regardless of where you are. The only exceptions are US and Canada, as I can’t work with clients there due to insurance reasons.
-

We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’d like to focus on, and I’ll share how I work. There’s usually time to begin exploring with IFS so you can get a sense of the process.

No preparation is needed. Just find a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable. I recommend using headphones for best audio quality. Some people like to bring a notebook to jot down reflections after sessions.
